Increase the efficiency of your facility with Tredecile’s People Counter device

Running a profitable and sustainable company is intimately linked to data acquisition for decision making and resource efficiency to achieve business goals. Amongst the greatest expenses are staff and physical location. What if Tredecile could help you optimize both whilst increasing employee and customer satisfaction with data? Read on to find out.
Real Time People Counting

How people counters can reduce your energy expenditure and carbon footprint

Transforming your facilities into smart buildings offers many advantages. By installing Tredecile People Counter devices above building entrances and in key rooms, you can accurately measure footfall and occupancy. This means you can adapt the lighting, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems (HVACS) to the number of people detected in each room. Doing so can drastically reduce your energy bill and carbon footprint, but good working conditions - and higher air quality - will also improve concentration and productivity. Increased comfort will also be valued by visitors and customers alike. All this can be enabled, in real-time, by data from people counter devices.

Optimize your workspace via people counter devices

For office buildings, people counting solutions offer extra advantages. They can help business owners to identify overused or underused spaces and give insights into space optimization. This means potential savings on rent and increased real estate efficiency, adjusting your floor space to better meet the needs of your business.

Understanding visitors’ behavior and adapting staff planning to meet demand

Installing people counter devices in indoor public areas also enables you to understand peaks and troughs in visitor traffic. You can then use the data to adapt staffing schedules to meet demand during busy periods and reduce staffing levels at quieter moments of the day. This is particularly useful for waiting rooms, town halls, post offices, convention centers, museums, swimming pools, and organizations offering services to the public.

You can also prevent overcrowding by alerting potential visitors when you are at full capacity, enticing them to visit later. This can help manage queues and waiting times for public services, popular attractions, and dining places whilst also reducing visitor frustration. The same system could also be used to trigger invitations when the place is quieter, smoothing out the peaks and troughs.

For many businesses, meeting room management is a perennial problem and frustration. Meeting rooms get booked and then not used, large rooms get booked for small meetings and larger groups are forced to cram themselves into smaller rooms.

A people counter device in each room will give you insights into room usage and occupancy levels and can even be linked to your room booking system, freeing up rooms that are not used and blocking those that are, in real-time. And with the data gathered you will discover actual usage and from that, be able to plan and optimize your meeting room assets.

In the hospitality industry, measuring room occupancy or bed/night occupancy is a key profitability measurement. Also, knowing where and when guests converge can help optimize cleaning schedules and catering demands whilst also giving insights to the effectiveness of marketing promotions or changes to the built environment.

GDPR compliance for people counting in sensitive areas

With the advent of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) safeguarding user privacy is paramount. Unlike camera-based people counting devices, Tredecile people counter devices use Time-of-Flight (ToF) technology. The depth data created by our ToF devices is unable to recognize an individual person and is intrinsically GDPR compliant right out of the box. This also means our people counter devices are ideal for use in more sensitive areas such as locker rooms, toilets or bathrooms.

Introducing Tredecile People Counting L-XL

Tredecile is proud to announce the launch of Tredecile People Counting L-XL. The product consists of an IoT device with a Power over Ethernet (PoE) interface and a wide 75° field of view (FoV) to cover larger entrances and exits. It features an innovative and proprietary people counter algorithm, that offers 98% accurate people counts, as well as advanced filtering to remove static people and objects that might otherwise reduce the people counting accuracy. Tredecile will also offer an IoT platform to retrieve data from multiple devices and facilitate remote device updates and maintenance. Rigorous testing with pilot clients, such as a gambling hall in Italy and a Center of Congress in Geneva, has been taking place since June 2018, and with great results!
